Schumacher Farm Park

Where Dane County's Rural Heritage Comes Alive.

Join us this spring for Line Dance Lessons! These common dances are popular at weddings and other events. Have you ever been afraid to step onto the dance floor because you don't know the dance? Solve that problem and join us for lessons to learn the basic steps.

We are offering a set of three sessions on May 6, 13 & 20 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Schumacher Farm Park. Register in advance. $10 per class or $25 for all three.

Week 1 = The Electric Slide, Cowboy Charleston

Week 2 = Cupid Shuffle, Samba Line Dance

Week 3 = Waltz Across Texas, Twist Em

Lessons take place with a socially distanced group in the blacktop parking lot of the Center for Rural History.

Instructor: Nancy Vidlak learned her first line dance 25 years ago. She and her husband dance every chance they get to country, swing and ballroom tunes. They love the dance community in Dane County and, before COVID-19 restrictions, would dance 3-4 nights a week!

Whether you are brand new, want to learn some new dances, or just want to move and dance to old favorites, Line Dance Lessons are a great opportunity to enjoy time outdoors and be active with fellow dance lovers.

Dancers of all abilities are welcome. Wear comfortable shoes or boots, and dress for the weather.
