ACCESSIBILITY

Physical Accessibility

The Center for Rural History is an ADA compliant building with handicapped parking and accessible water fountains and restrooms. The historic display in front of the Center for Antique Machinery is paved and wheelchair accessible. The Historic Barn, Granary, and Farmhouse are wheelchair accessible via ramps, but there may be some limitations due to the historic nature of the buildings.

All Access Program

We believe that everyone deserves to learn through interactive historical and nature-based experiences. Our All Access Program is inspired by the Museums for All initiative, which is a need-based program for visitors with financial constraints. We will not turn any child/caregiver away due to the inability to pay the fee for our activities. For our special events, just mention the All Access Program at admission to be admitted at no cost. For workshops led by park staff or volunteers (workshops that do not have an instructor listed on the webpage), please contact us to register at no cost. We do not require documentation.

Updating the historic buildings to be more accessible and the All Access Program is made possible by generous donations to the Friends of Schumacher Farm. Please consider making a donation today to support these important initiatives. Thank you!
