KIDS ON THE FARM

Join us every Monday* from 10–11:30 am for a morning of play, exploration, and connection designed for children and their caregivers. This drop-in program invites families to experience the joy of child-led, open-ended play in a beautiful natural setting.

*No sessions on these 2025 dates: Sept. 1, Nov. 24, Dec. 22, Dec. 29

Through the fall, we’ll gather in and around the historic barn, likely until the end of October. During warmer days, children can dig in the sandbox, roam the prairie or garden, and explore the farmhouse, granary, and barn. As temperatures drop, we’ll move into the climate-controlled Center for Rural History for cozy creative play, movement, and hands-on discovery—while still encouraging everyone to bundle up and enjoy the outdoors. Embracing the elements is part of the fun—getting wet, muddy, or messy is welcome!

This is a wonderful chance to meet other families, build your village, and enjoy the magic of multi-age play. Most weeks, volunteers offer simple activities to spark curiosity—ranging from art and nature to mindfulness and history. Check our Facebook page for updates on weekly activities and weather-related location changes.

This program is free, but donations are always appreciated to help support future programming. Let’s play the old-fashioned way—freely and together!
