Many of the classes and workshops offered by the Friends of Schumacher Farm cater to sharing the knowledge of early 20th century rural lifeways; homesteading skills, sustainability, repair and repurposing of materials. A few of the popular workshops we offer annually, while others rotate from year to year, depending on community demand and instructor availability.
Previous years' workshops include woodstove cooking, maple syruping, knitting, penny rugs, hard cider, soap, embroidery, home canning and seed saving, to name just a handful. We are always interested in hearing workshop ideas on the old-fashioned, and welcome volunteers to help facilitate these informational and engaging sessions. Contact us with your thoughts.
